This is one of the better DDR tournament videos I have had the opportunity to enjoy. Things I like about it:

Dude wears a costume complete with white mask.
Dude cocks a Nintendo Zapper at the beginning of his routine.
Dude c-walks on the arrows, thereby risking his life should he ever DDR in certain neighborhoods.
Dude busts out a galloping windmill butt-slap near the end of his routine.

It’s hard to tell from the verbal cues the game gives him how well he’s hitting the arrows, but I give this clip an A for Entertainment.

EWF MGM 12/13 $$$

Tickets for the Earth, Wind, and Fire gig christening the new MGM Grand Ballroom start at $150. Start. Someday maybe I will see a show in here and be blown away by its intimacy and acoustics. Perhaps it is a regular Bourbon Tabernacle.

I suspect this concert is pitched toward affluent fiftysomethings who were waiting for a band like EWF to play in a venue with free lighted parking and just may stop off for some Canasta on the way out. This beats the country acts that graced the former MGMGD’s Stage Bar, but still… Victor and I saw EWF a few years ago in a park in Lansing for a fraction of this price.

But I guess that’s the way of the world.

A few things I’ve been meaning to write more about but never had the time and I’m sick of seeing them as “drafts.” So I’m dumping them as one item.

One of the things I would never be able to do without the Internets is hear a guy named Homer Pimpson freestyle over the old NBA on NBC theme. As long as I’m at it, now would be a good time to point out Diffusion’s Diffusions Famous TV Theme Remixes [they're all British shows, though] and the French version of the A-Team theme [in mp3, scroll down], which is “the French version” because its lyrics are in French. Yes, it has sung lyrics. And they are in French. If you like NBC TV themes, also look for “Platinum Stars” by Li’l Flip, where the Pac-Man sampling Houston guy and his cronies flow over a break from “Gimme a Break!”

May have to investigate this further: a one-click installer for a VNC server hardwired to connect to you, intended for helpdesk applications, but maybe good for Mom and Dad’s computer too [your Mom and Dad, I mean; mine are on a Mac].
